A MEMORY MADE

This is Bella,
She was born July 11th 2005
and is a Indo-Pacific Bottlenose Dolphin (Tursiops aduncus)

This is my daughter Madeleine, who was given this wonderful experience by her grandparents as a Christmas gift whilst she was visiting them.

The Pet Porpoise Pool is located in Coffs Harbour, NSW. Australia
It is the place where myself and my daughter were born.
On Boxing Day 1970 the marine park opened as a rescue and rehabilitation centre for native marine animals.
The park only houses marine animals that have been hurt or injured. After being rehabilitated they are released back into the waters off the coast of Coffs Harbour. The few that can't be rehomed are settled into the park.
I myself have unsettled feelings about animals being kept for human amusement, but growing up with the marine park in my town I know of the environmental goodwill that they have achieved. The future holds planning for a marine animal hospital and I wish them luck with their endeavour.

HOME BEFORE SUNRISE

NUSA DUA
BALI, INDONESIA
Add caption
At the very edge of the private beach that separates the oppulent Nikko Resort, and the sapphire and turquoise sea. You can't help but wonder at the quaint fishing huts that stand cowering in the shadows of the lavish Nikko.

I can only imagine what the indigenous fishermen think of such
profuse wealth, when their families wellbeing depends on what they catch in their nets that evening or if the ageing jukung will hold together for one more sea voyage.

THE MAID PLAYS CROQUET

Ripponlea Estate
Melbourne, VIC

Looks like the set of an old Rock Hudson movie.
Just waiting for the bathing beauties to arrive, oh and my dry martini.

I know that these are sometimes called funeral lillies, but I still love buying them for my kitchen bench,

I never fail to get nostalgic when I see a weeping willow. I used to have a cubby house under one as a child on my family's property.

This green pond weed is deceiving to the eye.
It looks like you could walk across it.

A shady respite from the afternoon sun.

Or a stolen kiss away from prying eyes in the boathouse.

MY GUY

Alas I have found another
He laughs at my jokes
He is kind to animals (just not their tails)
He pulls my glasses off and gazes lovingly into my eyes
He shares his food
He accepts my dog
He gets distressed when I sneeze
He follows me to the toilet to make sure I don't drown
He lets me pick out his clothes
He softly strokes my forehead with his plastic car
He serenades me in a (very foreign) language
He puts his finger in my mouth to make sure I am at a comfortable temperature

We simply love one another

This dreamy cafe makes you want to put on
your best sundress,
and order iced tea and three desserts.
